Intermediate First Aid / CPR C
This course is recommended for anyone wanting a intermediate level of first aid knowledge. This 2-day course also incorporates the maximum level of CPR training, and covers the skills needed to recognize and provide intervention for life-threatening emergencies until medical aid arrives. Includes practical instruction on how to:
- Activate emergency medical services
- Recognize and treat for shock and unconsciousness
- Recognize and treat a non-breathing casualty (adult, child & infant)
- Recognize and treat a choking emergency for adults
- Recognize and treat severe bleeding
- Administer CPR (adult, child, infant and two-rescuer)
- Provide the necessary skills to conduct a secondary survey
- Recognize and treat upper and lower limb fractures
- Recognize and treat head and spinal injuries
- Recognize and treat eye injuries, burns, medical conditions, and environmental illnesses
This certificate is valid for 3 years, though annual retraining in CPR is recommended. This is an Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Approved course for a Intermediate First Aider.
In this two day course, students will learn to recognize and provide interventions for life threatening emergencies until medical help arrives. Topics include 1 and 2 rescuer CPR and choking, shock and unconsciousness, severe bleeding, wound care, major medical conditions, child and infant resuscitation, head and spinal injuries, and fractures of the upper and lower limbs. This course includes level "C" CPR training and AED training and certification.
